Principal consultant Peter Fane is a surveyor and agricultural consultant with extensive practical experience of agriculture and estate management.
Prior to establishing Eurinco, Peter was Director of the British Agricultural Bureau, the Brussels office of the UK Farmers' unions and farm co-operatives.
Before that he worked for the NFU (England and Wales) for 12 years in a number of different roles - as Parliamentary Liaison, Adviser on Water and Flood Defence, and as senior policy adviser in East Anglia. He has worked as a surveyor in both private and public sectors.
Peter Fane is a former Director of the RICS Land Group, where he was responsible for rural, environmental, planning & development and minerals & waste management faculties.
He is author of a number of RICS briefings - on CAP reform:
Peter was a board member of the Countryside Agency from 2000, and briefly Deputy Chairman prior to its merger in Natural England in 2006.
Eurinco was established in 1997 to help UK-based companies to take advantage of our EU membership.
Eurinco is an active member of AARC Ltd (Associated Agricultural and Rural Consultants), the commercial arm of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants.
We work closely with other AARC to offer Government and its agencies access to practical understanding of the farming sector - to help them to make change happen in the rural economy.
John Varley, Chief Executive of the 10,000 ha Clinton Devon estates, has been on three visits to Bussels with Eurinco. He says:
"I have been impressed with the professional arrangements and the officials and MEPs we get to meet - in most instances these players are at the heart of decision making or in crafting policy for the EU. I return having a much better appreciation of the context in which EU policy is set and an understanding of the amount of influence our UK government has in these matters.
Without doubt my experience gained from Peter Fane's Eurinco visits to Brussels has fed directly into strategy and policy development on the wider Estate. So much so that for this year's visit we intend to pull an Estate party together drawn from across a range of disciplines; so that the benefits can be felt right across the organization as we prepare our plans for the future."
